Display Documents of Different Formats in a Single Viewer WindowDocBridge View is a fast, easy to use program to display electronic, stored or archived documents. It can be used to view single, multiple, or batched documents. One of its major benefits is the support for printing, storing, and archiving all mixed object formats (compound formats) as well as the commonly used raster formats. An additional important feature of DocBridge View is that every page loaded into the viewer is shown in the same window – even when the documents loaded are in different formats.
User FeaturesThe user interface is made up of two main elements:
Viewer Window: This is used to display all loaded documents, irrespective of their format, even documents in different formats at the same time. The user is not confronted with any formatting variations; each page is shown in the viewer window presented just as its true representation.
The viewer offers all the features required to make document viewing easy, including scrolling, rotating, and zooming together with optimised display options such as scale-to-grey and its own font-rastering. Viewer page processing speed is extraordinarily high.
Document Navigation Window: This component provides a view of the loaded documents in various ways:
- Document tree: Batched documents, documents, and pages are shown in a hierarchically structure in Windows Explorer-style layout
- Miniature view: All the pages of the loaded documents are shown in sequence as resizeable thumbprints
- Index view: The index structure is shown for AFP document batches, in which the individual documents are indexed by using TLE tags
- Page group view: Shows AFP documents grouped as page groups
Additional features include:
- Selection of individual pages or page sections for printing and sending by e-mail
- Search for text in the loaded documents, assuming the document includes text, and marking of the instances found
- Creation and editing of annotations, e.g. highlighting, masking areas, lines, text boxes, notes, and stamps
FormatsMixed Object formats:
- AFP (Advanced Function Printing) and AFP mixed-mode from IBM
- MO:DCA (Mixed Object: Document Content Architecture) from IBM
- PCL (Printer Control Language) from HP
- PDF (Portable Document Format) from Adobe
- LCDS (incl. DJDE) from Xerox
- Metacode (incl. DJDE) from Xerox
- SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) from the W3C
- GOF (Generic Output Format) incl. OTF and ALF from SAP
- ASCII-/EBCDIC line mode
- XIF (Extended Interchange Format) from Compart
Raster Formats:
- BMP, GIF, IOCA, JPEG, PCX, PNG, TGA, and TIFF
The display options for documents of different formats can be optimised via the configuration profile and thereby adapted to meet the needs of the most demanding applications.
DocBridge View as an ActiveX Control ElementBoth DocBridge View’s document navigation window and the viewer window can be deployed as an ActiveX control element. This means DocBridge View can be embedded in Internet browsers and user applications.
